In Val di Fassa the Ladin Carnival is one of the most longed-for and colourful event thanks to the carved wooden masks, used to distinguish the different characters of the Latin Carnival and “Mascherèdes” burlesque and mocking plays in Ladin language, whose origins are to be found in the ancient Laden everyday life.
